Raymond Legueult : (1898-1971) was a french painter, born in Paris. His artistic work started in 1921. In 1922, Raymond Legueult rented a studio with his friend Maurice Brianchon on avenue du Maine. They made together the costumes for Grisélidis at the Opéra de Paris, and then the decors for the ballet "La Naissance de la lyre" (the birth of the lira) in 1925. He used to go to museums, the Louvre in particular, where he liked to see paintings of Courbet, Corot, Delacroix, Poussin. He was a teacher at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris in 1932, and then at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris from 1952 to 1968. He had among his students Michel Bertrand (1935-2009). He was a member of the group "Peintres de la Réalité Poétique" (Painters of the Poetic reality) from 1949. His studio was located rue Boissonade in Paris, on the same floor as the Bessie Davidson's. He was friend with the photographer Marc Vaux.
