Information: From 1923, Utrillo and his family went regularly to St Bernard where they acquired a small castle. Suzanne Valadon sees in these stays an opportunity to distance Maurice Utrillo from Montmartre and its excesses, which allows the painter to recover his health and to paint works in soothing colors imprinted with calm and gentleness.

(1883-1955) is the ultimate parisian painter, Utrillo was born in Montmartre december 26, 1883. He is the son of Suzanne Valadon and certainly of the spanish painter Miguel Utrillo. Typical painter of The "École de Paris", Maurice Utrillo mostly painted landscapes with houses or parts of villages.
