Guus Van Dongen is Kees Van Dongen's first wife. Her paintings are rare on the market because they are mostly kept in the family. This interesting painting was made in 1909, when she shared the studio of her illustrious husband the painter Kees Van Dongen. They were then installed at the Bateau-Lavoir and neighbored Picasso!
Provenance: Dolly Van Dongen (and by family succession), daughter of the artist and Kees Van Dongen
