Richard Texier : (1951-) is a french painter, sculptor, and engravor who was born in Niort in 1955. He lives and works in Paris, in the area of la Butte-aux-Cailles. He is painting since he is 12 years old, and gets passionate with surrealist experiences. He studied architecture, and made a thesis entitled « Constructions d’après nature » (constructions after nature), close to Land Art, in the 1970's. He made several conceptual works, including the series "calendriers lunaires", start of his work, which were exhibited at the FIAC. Starting from the 1980's began a very long series of journeys: New York, Barcelona, Japan, Belgium, Russia, China…, which never really ended. In a short time period, he soon made important exhibitions, which opened him the doors to the world (Contemporary Art Centre of Moscow in 1992, Botanical Museum of Brussels, National Museum of Taiwan in 1996, Meishuguan in Shanghai inn 2005, Hong kong in 2007…).
