Miquel Barcelo : (1957-) is a spanish artitst who was born in Majorca, associated to the neo expressionism movement. Miquel Barceló has become on of the most prominent contemporary artist, et has gained international recognition very early, thanks to his paintings and drawings. In the 1990's, he also worked on sculptures and ceramics. Miquel Barceló has also received important commissions, such as the dome of the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva. Since the mid 1990's, Miquel Barceló lives and works inbetween Majorca, Paris, and in Mali on the Bandiagara cliff. He received in 2003 the Prince of Asturias awards for the Arts, and has exhibited worldwide.
