Inspired by a bicycle handlebar, the Wassily chair is one of the greatest creations of Marcel Breuer (1902-81). Although the tubular metal chair looked like an artifact from the future when the
Hungarian-born American designer and architect designed it in 1925, Breuer could not have predicted the far-reaching impact it would have on modern design.
