Very beautiful statue with a face full of serenity with a soft, well-proportioned face and a finely braided hairstyle.

The Baoulé are one of the largest ethnic groups in Côte d'Ivoire. Their name reflects their origin: according to a legend, Queen Aba Pokou guided her people in exodus to the gold mining regions
during the 18th century; she had to sacrifice her son to the god of a river in order to be able to cross it. The people were then called "Bauli", which means: "the son is dead".
