Henry MOORE : Trois nus couchés - Lithographie originale

Lithographie : La lithographie tire son nom du grec lithos «pierre» et graphein, «écrire». Il s'agit d'une technique d’impression qui permet la création et la reproduction d'oeuvres graphiques en plusieurs exemplaires à partir de dessins reproduits sur une pierre calcaire. Le papier est mis en contact des pierres encrées dans une presse. Les lithographies peuvent être numérotées ou non. Des grands ateliers, comme Maeght ou Mourlot, maitres dans cette technique, et spécialisé dans cette technique on produit des lithographies des plus grands maîtres, très recherchées aujourd'hui
Henry Moore : Né à Castleford, Yorkshire en 1898, Henry Moore est un sculpteur, peintre, dessinateur et graveur britannique. Il est considéré comme l'un des plus illustres sculpteurs du xxe siècle. Formé à la Leeds School of Art, puis au Royal College of Art, où il enseigne la sculpture dès 1924, Moore exécute ses premières œuvres en 1920. Ses toiles et dessins privilégient le dépouillement et l'intensité. Il participe au Surréalisme en 1936 dont il retient le goût pour des espaces insolites, arbitraires, habités de formes stylisées. Nommé " War Artist " en 1940, il exécute 82 dessins d'abris, dont il tirera 7 lithographies. Il crée un répertoire de formes non figuratives qui nourrira l'inspiration d'un métier de graveur peu exploité avant 1949. Installé depuis 1940 à Perry Green, Much Hadham, l'artiste y a créé la Henry Moore Foundation. Il meurt à Much Hadham, Hertfordshire en 1986.
