Octave-Pierre Deguingand, known as Pierre de Guingand, born on 6 June 1885 in Paris XVIe and died on 10 June 1964 in Versailles, is an artist of many talents. He has made numerous appearances in
films and theatres, including Les Trois Mousquetaires, Le Mauvais Garçon, Fanfan La Tulipe, Au bonheur des Dames, Le Grand Bluff and Remontons les Champs-Elysées by Sacha Guitry.

After founding "Le Salon Bleu" in Vaison-la-Romaine in 1948, his decision was taken and, from 1949, he broke completely with the theatre to devote himself to painting.

"Pierre de Guingand knew the art of exalting colours by opposing them without brutality, and his pastels compose a well-rhythmic symphony or, rather, a well- tempered chamber music." - Gérald Schurr

"He paints because he loves, every painting of him is a statement." - Roland Dorgelès
