INFORMATION
Born in Paris in 1920, Lily Masson lived from her childhood in an artistic environment thanks to her father, the painter André Masson. Before turning to painting in 1960, she did illustrations for tales and poems dedicated to children. Encouraged by the painter Angelopoulos, she took a very distinct approach from her artist entourage. Fascinated by various materials, Masson's work is not limited to drawing and painting, in watercolor as well as in oil, she also enthusiastically uses collage for which she uses several materials, such as sand, fabrics. and even feathers. Strongly inspired by nature as well as surrealism, Lily Masson's works are an exercise in imagination, a fabrication of the illusion of reality as well as the result of an in-depth research into nature and materials.

Née à Paris en 1920, Lily Masson a vécu dès son enfance dans un milieu artistique grâce à son père, le peintre André Masson. Avant de se tourner vers la peinture en 1960, elle faisait des illustrations pour des contes et poèmes dédiés aux enfants. Encouragée par le peintre Angelopoulos, elle a pris une approche très distincte de son entourage artiste. Fascinée par les matériaux divers, le travail de Masson ne se limite pas au dessin et la peinture, à l'aquarelle comme à l'huile, elle utilise également avec enthousiaste le collage pour lequel elle emploie plusieurs matériaux, comme le sable, les tissus et même les plumes. Fortement inspirée par la nature ainsi que le surréalisme, les travaux de Lily Masson sont un exercice d'imagination, une fabrication de l'illusion du réel ainsi qu'un résultat d'une recherche approfondie de la nature et des matières.
