Set of 5 large original etchings on watermarked Vergé paper, including "Frontispice", "The Departure", "In Foreign Climes", "The Return", and "The Fatted Calf".

From the second state printing of 400, according to Wentworth.

Some are signed or dated on the plate lower right.

Some are ink-stamped with the artist's monogram as well.

Dimensions:
+ Size of the sheets: 48,5 x 62 cm / 19,8 x 24,4 in.

Condition: In fair/good condition, with some soft handling creases, some slight discoloration, several minor and notable stains, and some occasional small tears at the edges. Some remains of pieces of brown tape on the back. Images clean otherwise, well-inked. We advise framing them (please note that the last picture is a simulation only, these artworks are NOT framed).

The 5 etchings formed together the series "The Parable of the Prodigal Son".

Etched by James Tissot himself, London.
