Stencil : The stencil is a printing technique made using a cover (in zinc for example) that prevents paint or ink from flowing. The stencil is then applied to the printed proof by etching, lithography, screen printing or phototyping. Many stencils must be traced and cut to obtain an accurate reproduction of the work.
Frantisek Kupka : František Kupka (1871 - 1957) is a Czech born artist who has moved to Paris as early as 1896. He is one of the most important artits of his generation of his generation, together with Kandinsky, Mondrian and Malevich who opened the way to abstraction ... Kupka, like many artists, began by following the academic teaching he got, and his first recorded works are figurative, as evidenced by the early works in the collection of authe Musée Georges Pompidou in Paris. In 1910 he turned towards non-figurative art.
