Pedro Rodríguez de la Vega was born in 1940 in Mexico. He died in 1971, aged just 31, at the wheel of his Ferrari 512 M during a round of the Interserie championship at the Norisring track in
Nuremberg, Germany. A great Mexican hope, he began by winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of a Ferrari in 1958. Subsequently, he entered Formula 1 at just 19 years old as an official driver
for Scuderia Ferrari. He won his first circuit, the South African Grand Prix, in 1967 and in 1970, achieved a second success, at the Belgian Grand Prix.
