Philippe Pasqua : (1965-) is a french painter and sculptor, who was born in Grasse in 1965. He established himself over time and over a nonstandard path as one of the major artists of his generation. Since he started, his art impressed and shook up certainties of those who stand alongside it, such as the great art critic Pierre Restany. Self taughtman, nephew of the politician Charles Pasqua, he started painting when he was 18 years old, with materials that he would retrieve, such as industrial painting. Influenced by the english expressionnism (Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud), he paints naked bodies, and monumental faces. Since his first exhibition in Paris in 1990, his works are present in important collections such as the collection Art4RU (Russia), the Institut culturel Bernard Magrez (France), the Fondation Carmignac Gestion collection (France), or the Eileen S. Kaminsky collection (USA).
