Such pieces were used to protect a sacred space. For a snake of this size, it could be for the protection of a tomb or a sacred altar.

Old and usual piece, sold with the base which is visible in the photos, from which it can be removed.

70 cm total height on base.
Total weight without packaging of approximately 0.650 kg.
Materials: Black iron.

Lobi : The Lobi People is from west-Africa (Burkina Faso, Ghana, and in the north of Ivory Coast). Their ars consists in elegant wood statues.
