This linocut was created by Matisse in 1938 for the publisher XXe Siecle Paris and its edition was about 1500 prints.
The work portrays Alexina "Teeny" Sattler. She was an agent for several artists, and she got married in 1929 to Pierre Matisse, the eldest son of the master, from whom she divorced in 1949
