The Impressionist master represents here, with a simple and delicate stretch, the famous profile of the bohemian poet Charles Baudelaire. The two artists frequented the same circles in Paris in the
second half of the nineteenth century, animated by a lively cultural exchange between writers and painters who were opening the doors to modernity.
