Les Pecheurs: lithography by the surrealist artist Salvador Dalì, from the original unique artwork of the same name.
With regards to subject matter, Dalì stated " The epic topic was related to me by my father (...). He had showen me in his desk, at the same time, an engraving by Swidish pompier artist
depicting
tuna fishing, which I also used in working out this oil".
The contorted, muscolar bodies of the two fisherman era similar to the humans rendered in Géricoult's work "Raft of the Medusa". However it is remarkable that these somewhat traditionally drawn
silhouettes do not hinder the modernity of the artwork
