Marc Chagall
The dance of Myriam
Colour lithograph
22 x 30 cm (8.7 x 11.8 inches)
In 1966 Chagall achieves 24 colored lithographs on the theme of the Exodus from Egypt, marked by the guidance of the three children of Amram, Moses, Aaron and Myriam. This work represents a moment of
celebration, when the prophetess Myriam is dancing in the group playing the tambourine. The characters are typical of Chagall's joyful imaginary such as the wealth of pure colours.
