This work is a still life, a subject of relentless exploration for George Braque in the twenties. Primitive forms, highly expressive lines characterize this fruit basket that stands on a flat gray
background. Original lithograph executed for the famous magazine Derriere le Miroir in 1952, No. 48-49, published in Paris the same year by the highly regarded publisher Maeght. The artwork is 55 x 37 cm with a center fold and the text on the reverse, as originally published.
