Françoise Lucbert, extract from the catalogue Graphic art collection - The Centre Pompidou collection, 2008: Bar du port presents an original synthesis between the analytical cubism of the Picasso-Braque duo and the language, both more readable and more decorative, of the cubists exhibiting in the Parisian Salons from 1910. It was also at the time of these first collective manifestations of cubism that Marcoussis met Apollinaire and Braque, who introduced him to Picasso.
