Very beautiful aquatint made by Gen Paul under the pseudonym of Eugène Lautral in 1923 depicting Lepic street and the Moulin de la Galette.
Located, monogrammed and dated in the bottom right-hand corner
Signed at the lead pencil in the lower right corner
Framed under glass

"In the years 1919-1920, Gen Paul learned the technique of engraving from Eugène Delâtre, who printed the etchings in his studio on rue Lepic. The painter produces small paintings, views of the
Butte, models for aquatints whose printing depends on the success of each subject. Most of them are not numbered, they are sometimes signed Paul Trélade or Eugène Lautral. "

Gen Paul : (1895-1975) born Eugène Paul, aka Gen Paul, is a self-taught French expressionist painter and engraver. He was a friend of Louis-Ferdinand Céline. He his often unfairly known as being a "Montmartre painter".
