Handshake between Hemingway and Castro during the Hemingway fishing trophy presentation on May 15, 1960. Photo taken by Alberto Korda, Fidel Castro's photographer. The young Fidel Castro, who had just taken power in Cuba in January 1959, won the competition. Hemingway's presentation of the trophy was the one and only time the two men had met.
Photographer's dry stamps, one on the lower right corner and one on the back.
