This is the story of a music group, the "Moon Module Mecs bis", created by three young Belgian friends, Michel, Christian and Bernard at the end of the 60s. They then had the audacity to write to André Franquin, then famous for his adventures of Spirou and Fantasio but especially of Gaston Lagaffe, in order to ask him if he would agree to lend the traits of his anti-hero in order to help the notoriety of the group. And against all expectations, the latter accepted: "Okay Christian and Michel, the Moon Module Mec's bis. Hurry up !..." ; he added at the bottom of the page these few benevolent lines: "and if you want, keep the Spirou editorial staff informed of the fate of the group. Eventually, they will write about it in the newspaper. Have a good and happy career! ... ". Franquin was indeed known for his immense generosity.
