NAPOLEON 1er - Signed letter on the reorganisation of the great army following the Russia campaign.

NAPOLEON 1er
Signed letter on the reorganisation of the great army following the Russia campaign.
Letter signed "Np" to the Ducke of Feltre, written by Meneval, Paris, 4th January 1813; 2 pages in-4th. Pinned proof of receipt.
Interesting letter on the reorganisation of the Grande Armée after the Russia campaign: "I have just ordered by decree that the 30 fourth squadrons of the Army of Spain and the seven third squadrons of the same Army that would be in France will be completed to 250 men and 250 horses which will make me two beautiful divisions of cavalru with the strength of more than 7000 horses. I believe the deposits of the cavalry regiments of the Army of Spain must receive men on foot which are sent back from the war squadrons (...) It appears to me as though it is neccessary to provide them immediately with the means of recruitment (...) there are therefore 5000 men to acquire (...) This call shall be made in the field of the Corps depot neighbouring the place where these 40 squadrons can be found (...)"
