Riding the spring breeze of success
Important group in malachite finely sculpted in high relief and entirely openwork, which requires extreme dexterity.
It probably dates from the 20th century (Republican period), the raw material likely originating from deposits in the Republic of Congo (Katanga) or Siberia. The linear inscription on the coin
(Chun Feng De Yi) translates as "Riding the spring breeze of success," meaning to be at the height of happiness.
The stamp, the signature of the workshop or craftsman, seals the quality of the piece.
The decoration features three female figures, Guanyn; the central figure holds a calligraphy scroll, while the middle figure holds a Ruyi scepter. At the base, a young servant gazes upwards
towards them. The background depicts trees with branches laden with magnolia or peony blossoms.
Good overall condition.
