Superb Gouro mask, ethnic group from the centre of the Ivory Coast, with the image of Mami Wata.
The crest presents a scene with Mami Wata.
The deity holds a serpent above his head with both hands. A snake charmer punctuates his dance.
Mask with female face, Zaouli type, very soft expression.
Sculpture in one piece of wood, very good quality. Elaborate polychromia.
Excellent condition. No trace of restoration or other.
