INFORMATION: The small castle, now disappeared, depicted in this watercolor is the Ermitage de Montmorency. It was made famous by JJ Rousseau who stayed there for several years and notably wrote "La Nouvelle Héloïse". The castle will be remodeled in the middle of the 19th century (as it appears in this work by Maclet) and later became a rest home.
