Necklace of Akoya cultured pearls from Japan, falling, from 4 to 7mm, each pearl is individually knotted; oblong shaped clasp is in 18 kt yellow gold.

Pearl : Pearl are naturally found in molluscum. They can also be "cultivated" which means that a nucleus has been artificially introduced into the shell in order to induce the production of a pearl by the molluscum.
Yellow gold : Yellow 18K gold is an alloy contianing 75% of pure gold, whereas 14K gold contains only 58,5% of pure gold.
