Emmanuel Bellini (1904-1989) is a french painter. He worked at the architect agency of Charles Delmas, which made the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice. He worked as an architect in Var, and then in Cannes. He was a self taught-man: he made his first painting in 1948. In 1949 he exhibited in Cannes in the Hall of the compagnie Grosso. The painters Louis Pastour and Jean-Gabriel Domergue showered him with praise. His oils on canvas and watercolours have intense colours and their shades remind of fauvism and impressionnism. Emmanuel Bellini was very prolific: almost 40 themes were approached during his 50 years of creations. One of his favourite theme is the carriage or old cart, a memory of his childhood, when he was healing horses after they came back home from labour. Then, the clowns, circus, flowers, architecture elements, domes, Venice, Paris, Nantes, Monaco, French Revolution, Eugenio Lucas Velázquez, oniric landscapes... and more, at the Belle Époque time. For his 80th birthday, the prince Rainier de Monaco offered him an exhibition at the Sporting.
