Born in Paris in 1891, Nathalie Kraemer was a Franco-Jewish artist active in the 1930s, exhibiting at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Tuileries. Also a poet, she published a collection entitled Des voix montent in 1926, which won a literary prize in 1927. Arrested in 1943, she was deported to Auschwitz, where she died on December 22 of that year. Thanks to collector Oscar Ghez, who acquired several of her works in 1973, her work is now housed at the Hecht Museum at the University of Haifa and the Petit Palais in Geneva.
