Etching published in 1731; At the top of Burlington Gate the statue of architect William Kent (1685-1748), is submissively admired by Raffael and Michelangelo laterally at his feet.
On a scaffold below Alexander Pope(1688-1744) is white-washing the gate and in his ardor is giving both passers-by and the coach of the Duke of Chandos lots of slush. The title of the the work is
engraved below the image.
