Benito Belli was a Spanish painter active in the late 19th century, primarily between 1870 and 1899. After studying at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris around 1878, where he would spend the rest of his life. He is known for his works inspired by biblical and historical subjects, and especially for his portraits of men. His style, marked by depth and classicism, evokes that of the great masters of Spanish Baroque, such as Velázquez. Belli participated in various group exhibitions, including the Barcelona Exhibition of Fine Arts. In 1902, two of his paintings were included in the collections of the city's Municipal Museum of Fine Arts.
