Magnificent covered cup with long handle, incense burner or Chinese ceremonial ladle often called "spectre Ruyi".

Carved from hard stone, probably jadeite, it has a beautiful translucency and celadon green color with darker natural inclusions. The lid is exquisitely carved with archaic scrolls that allow incense smoke to escape.

The style is inspired by the archaic jades of the Shang and Zhou dynasties with the geometric frieze of Greek key patterns around the rim of the bowl and lid.

Produced at the end of the Qing dynasty or the Republic period (1920-50).

Pieces in good overall condition and complete, rare with its lid.
