In 1964 Pierre Paulin presented the F580 model, the first version of the current Groovy armchair. This model is one of the great achievements of the period which goes from 1958 to 1968 and during which, inspired in particular by automotive technologies, Pierre Paulin uses tubular structures covered with molded foam, covered with stretch fabric to gain lightness and solidity while by enabling industrialization. At the beginning of the 1970s, the Groovy armchair (or “m” chair) took its final form and enjoyed great success.
