Numa-François Gillet :
(1868-1940) is a french symbolist artist, painter, ceramist (Louis Delvaux studio), and architect. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français, where he exhibited "hors concours". He was taught by Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury in Paris. As many artists, he settled at Montigny-sur-Loing, drawn by the charm of the light, the city and its surroundings. He often worked with his close friend Armand Point. He was passionate with prehistory and archaeology, and built several villas in the "merovingian style". He was chevalier de la légion d'honneur.
His work is represented at the musée d'Autun, which puts him in the Symbolists group. He has ratings in public auctions, but his works are rare on the market,
