Victor Adam (born in Paris on January 28, 1801, died in Viroflay on December 31, 1866), was a French painter, draftsman and lithographer. A student of the prestigious Charles Meynier and Jean-Baptiste Régnault, he entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1814, at the age of 13, and exhibited at the Salon from 1819. He notably won a medal there in 1824 (Lille) and a 2nd class medal in 1836. He illustrated literary and historical works: The Adventures of Telemachus, The Fables of La Fontaine, The History of Napoleon, as well as collections intended for young people.
