Precious and moving curriculum vitae written by Foujita for his file for the presentation of the medal of Officer of the Legion of Honor, by his friend Léon Julliot de la Morandière in 1958, three years after having been naturalized French, and thirty-three years later having been promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor. This promotion crowns an exceptional national and international career, which began in the Roaring Twenties in the Montparnasse district, in the company of Picasso, Modigliani, Kiki and many others, until his triumphant return to France after the Second World War.

Provenance: archives of Léon Julliot de la Morandière, a close friend of the artist, who met when he was director of the Franco-Japanese house in Tokyo in the 1930s.
