Ce masque africain des Fang illustre l'une des nombreuses variations stylistiques des masques Fang du Ngil, se démarquant par un volume étiré, au centre concave, dans lequel de hautes cavités
orbitales abritent de minces fentes pour les yeux. La solennité se traduit ici par la bouche en moue placée dans l'extrémité du menton.

Fang : Central Africa people mainly livin in Cameroon, equatorial Guinea and Gabon. The Fang are especially known for their guardian figures which they attached to wooden boxes containing bones of the ancestors. Fang ancestors figures are visible in the Quai Branly museum in Paris.
