African art production among the Grassland chieftaincies. This mask was made in solid wood, it has a jovial expression underlined by the vivacity of its colored pearls. This type of Bamoun masks is worn on the top of the head, unlike most of the Bamileke facial masks. Woodcore covered with fabric following the shape of the objects decorated with thousandths of stuck on pearls. Each of the pearls' colors has a particular signification in relation to the different chieftaincies. The mustache and the ears are covered with a mix of palm oil and padouk wood. Slights cracks and abrasions.
