Helmet made for the event Marseille Provence 2013.
The mayor of Marseille Jean-Claude Gaudin handed, on Wednesday, October the 15th, the medal of the city of Marseille to the artist JonOne who describes himself as an "abstract expressionist painter
graffiti".
Coming from the New York underground environment this emblematic artist of the post-graffiti contemporary scene is a key figure of street art since the 1980s.
In 2010, his path crossed the one of collector and gallery owner David Pluskwa in Marseille. For Marseille it will be expert revelation, a real thunderbolt for the painter and his work. 2 years
ago, the gallery gathered all his creative team around this internationally renowned artist to edit a book.
In January 2013, he was chosen by Eric Cantona to tag his Rolls Royce that he sold 125,000 euros to benefit the Fondation Abbé Pierre.
That same month, following the wish of the Federation of Construction 13, the official helmet "MP2013" was introduced.
The artist has indeed made the original work which was to be reproduced on helmets. P.M-C.
