Edouard Pignon is counted as belonging to the New Paris School.
With Bazaine, Esteve, Lapicque and Manessier, Pignon is one of "Twenty painters of French tradition", who exhibits in Paris at the Braun Galery in 1941.
Pignon declines his pictorial work in series, sea scenes, cock fights, and a series of Battles in the 1960s.
Throughout his career, he practices a resolutely figurative painting, blaming abstract art to suppress the reality.
