Charles Léandre : Born on July 22, 1862 in Champsecret and died on May 24, 1934 in Paris, Charles Léandre is a French illustrator, lithographer, caricaturist, draftsman, sculptor and painter. At a very young age, he distinguished himself in school in drawing classes. Later, he perfected his skills in Emile Blin's studio where he produced his first caricatures. In 1880, he began his studies at the École des beaux-arts de Paris. In 1882, he became a drawing teacher following his success in the drawing professorship test. In parallel with his teaching activity, he continues his practice of painting. He received the bronze medal at the 1889 World's Fair. The artist concretized his career at the 1900 World's Fair with a gold medal for his lithographic work.
