INFORMATION: Bernard Buffet made several repetitions with black pastel, notably in the lower part on the cypress to the left of the composition and along the canal, thus reinforcing certain features. These modifications also appear on the numbered edition of this engraving. We can therefore assume that the Artists' Proofs correspond to the first state of the engraving.
REFERENCE: This engraving will appear in the second volume of the catalog raisonné of engravings currently being prepared by the Galerie Garnier.
