The snail here presented is one of the subjects of Cracking Art Group's creations. Just as all the other sculptures that populate since years the most varopis urban lanscapes, the snails were for
example in New York, for an installation in Central Park.
Cracking Art Group :
(1993-) is a group of six artists, founded in 1993. The name itself comes from the idea of breaking with the past: “to crack” is indeed referring to the idea of snaping, splitting, and of course breaking.The choice of using recycled plastic is explained by two inclinations: removing plastic from a destruction eventually toxic for the environment in order to produce nature-friendly artworks nature, and secondly communicating through an innovative aesthetic language.
