Mexico Veracruz culture, 450-750 AD Anthropo-zoomorphic ceremonial whistle Beige terracotta with traces of manganese oxides Visible accidents 11.6 x 8.5 cm excluding base Private collection Ceremonial whistle representing a shaman in transformation under the effect of a powerful hallucinogen. The character wears a coyote head with large ears, the top of the skull adorned with a triple crest, the mouth half-open. Adorned with a large pectoral and a loincloth, arms and legs spread. The whistle is functional.
