Asia Usu refers to the geniuses of the bush. These pieces are worshipped outside the village to attract the protection and blessing of the deities. These statues serve as a place of dwelling for the
spirits. The more beautiful and well carved they are, the more the spirit will be satisfied to come and live inside it.

Powerful Usu Baoulé Asia, sitting on an Akan stool, and holding his long beard in his hand.

Predominantly brown and shiny patina. Some marks of wear and erosion.
The piece expresses confidence and serenity.
