Etching after the original painting (1743) of William Hogarth, it represents the portray of the famous Lord Bishop of Winchester, Dr. Benjamin Hoadly (1676-1761). He was a close friend and also the
protector of the artist. Here, he is sitting in a noble chair and he's wearing lavish clothes with the Order of Garter's insignia, which was the highest and most ancient order of the Knights.
