China 18th century Porcelain group representing the Taoist god Shoulao displaying the symbol of longevity Porcelain (blanc-de-chine) Tiny missing mustache and small crack on the terrace 20 x 22 cm Private collection The god is depicted standing, wearing a long cloak (hanfu) girded with a belt, with wide sleeves appearing to float in the wind. He holds in his hands the symbol of longevity (shou) and is accompanied by a crane standing at his side, itself a symbol of long life in Chinese mythology, the terrace in imitation of waves.
