Tanzania, Zigwa people, Mid-20th century, Old anthropomorphic statuette with shiny patina

Tanzania Zigwa People Mid-20th century The statuette represents a standing woman, legs bent, camped on large feet. The arms are detached from the body, the hands coming to position themselves on each side of a protruding abdomen, thus indicating maternity, the latter decorated with a small navel. The powerful shoulders, the sex signified by a notch, the generous chest. The face characterized by eyes in the shape of coffee beans framing a small flattened nose overhanging a wide open mouth.
